belle du jour gets into double trouble with 6X2 drop dead looks created by the Stephen Marr team especially for girls who like to have fun at the ball and look good while they're at it.

LONELY HEARTS

MISS CRABB

JULIETTE HOGAN

CYBELE

KAREN WALKER

   FAST AND LOOSE

TWILIGHT This is a look for creatures of the night, severe centre parts and falling ragged waves, blood black lips, stained eyes and pale skin. An homage to Stephanie Meyer’s fascinating novels, the modern undead are darkly feminine in frills and heels from lonely hearts.

OLD FASHION A cheeky remake of old fashioned glam with the volume turned up a notch. Hot red and magenta lips, navy cats eyes teamed with frocks of electric teal and gold from cybele and an old time set of waves in the hair taken away over one shoulder puts an eighties spin on things.

THE NEW STRAIGHT Volume is hot and this classic 60’s bouffant is beaten into shape with a kinky mix of textures we call the new straight. There’s not a hint of color to be seen with contoured eyes framed by sweeping black liquid flicks, matte nude lips and short, billowy sleeved, shift dresses from Miss Crabb.

ANGEL An halo of braids and coils in the hair makes a simple sillhouette, while a little bit of matted texture gives it an otherworld edge, mixed up with karen walker’s deep blue ruffles and offwhite belle shapes the look is sweetened with eyes shadowed gold and peachy pink lips.

SUNDAYS CHILD All at once young, innocent and wild in Juliette Hogan flowing floral dresses. With hair swept up in a loose top knot with rebelious fraying edges and pale rose smudges across eyes and lips this is romance undone.

POMPADOUR Todays power dressing for hair is the new pompadour, sleek and androgenous with a top heavy twist. Fast and Loose unleashes monochromatic style with bodycon bandage dresses and oversize fur coats and the look is pushed that little bit further with heavily emphasised cheeks and brows in earthy matte browns.

Alice Hampson created this look for hot new label Hopetown.

For their debut collection, designers Ruth Ellison and Aria Campbell draw on the simplicity of the Old Man and his wooden fishing boat.
To get this sea tossed effect Alice pumped Wella High Hair Ocean Spritz into Olivia's hair and defined her natural texture using Sebastian Evocative Crafty.

Karen Walker, The Believers

A sneaky look behind the scenes at the latest Karen Walker and Stephen Marr show. Backstage it was a no blow dry zone with hair twisted up in knots and left to set naturally, faces were fresh with berry tints on the cheeks and eyes, then finally a quick tousle of the hair before heading down the runway.
